Virgin Voyages

Sailing should feel transformative. Yet after listening to some avid sailors, Virgin Voyages wondered if things could be different. At Virgin Voyages they think the time to epicly change sea travel is upon them..

Welcome to their own, fresh take on cruising. Here, curiosity is more important than an itinerary. Interactions matter more than transactions. With Virgin Voyages, you don’t ‘tourist’– you voyage.

They've assembled a ‘Creative Collective’ from some of the world’s leading design firms to help to redefine what people expect from a cruise ship. These creators are responsible for some of the most talked about travel spaces in the world, including Ace Hotels, The Standard High Line and Mondrian Hotels.

Equally important to the ship’s physical design is the desire to create a meaningful experience for guests. Virgin Voyages will feature exciting ideas in entertainment and music to provide their Sailors (not passengers or cruisers) with a strong variety of programming options.

In fact, it won’t be a cruise at all. It will be a voyage!

One of the best-known names in cruising, Princess Cruises first set sail in 1965 with a single ship cruising to Mexico. Today, the line has grown to become the third largest cruise line in the world, renowned for innovative ships, an array of onboard options, and an environment of exceptional customer service. A recognised leader in worldwide cruising, Princess offers approximately 1.7 million passengers each year the opportunity to escape to the top destinations around the globe, aboard a fleet of 18 modern vessels.

The weekly series, which introduced millions of viewers to the concept of a sea-going vacation, was an instant hit and both the company name and its "seawitch" logo have remained synonymous with cruising ever since. P&O Cruises

P&O Cruises can trace its colourful history all the way back to 1837. On 1st September that year, Arthur Anderson and Brodie McGhie Wilcox, founders of the Peninsular Steam Navigation Company, were awarded a contract from the British Government to carry mail from London to the Iberian Peninsula. At that time passengers were also carried on these routes, but initially it was more a case of business than pleasure.

It is commonly believed that Arthur Anderson first imagined deep-sea cruising two years before establishing the company. Arthur placed a dummy advertisement selling a mythical cruise to fill space in the first edition of his ‘Shetland Journal’ newspaper.

As the company picked up more contracts with more varied destinations, they also put Anderson’s idea for leisure cruise travel into action. They offered round trip tickets to some of the more exotic destinations along their routes like Malta, Athens and Egypt. Needless to say this new holiday phenomenon well and truly took off.

P&O Cruises set the standards for quality, service, reliability, comfort, safety and innovation. And this forward-looking approach ensures that they remain at the forefront of cruise holidays.
