Take a trip to Stellenbosch and sample the very best wines from this region, before taking a trip to the stunning & unique Featherbed Nature Reserve.

You'll then have the opportunity to spot the big 5, with 2 nights in the Shamwari Game Reserve.   Early morning and evening game drives await you, in search of the abundant wildlife.

Day 1 - Fly UK/Cape Town

On arrival into Cape Town airport, you will be met by an English-speaking assistant and transferred to your hotel for check-in. This evening, you will enjoy a welcome dinner at the famous Gold Restaurant in Cape Town. 14 different dishes will be served - of course all typical African food from the continent. Dinner included

This morning, you will embark on a full-day tour of the Mother City with your guide. Drive past the stadium and the V&A Waterfront with a stop for lunch and an opportunity for a quick shop. Afterwards, take a drive through the city centre and make a stop at the historical Greenmarket Square before heading to the 17th century Castle of Good Hope. You will also visit the Company’s Garden and discover the Bo-Kaap area. Formerly known as the Malay Quarter, this picturesque corner of Cape Town is well-known for its vast collection of colourful houses and cobblestone streets.

Next, pay a visit to Table Mountain, or in the event of bad weather, Table View. Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain forming a prominent landmark overlooking the city of Cape Town. Visitors can either take the cableway or hike to the top. The cable car takes about 7 minutes, with the gondola rotating 360° during the trip. From the top of Table Mountain, you will get to enjoy the spectacular views, looking out for Lions Head and Signal Hill on the left, the City Bowl in the middle and Devils Peak on the right.

Today you will pay a visit to the famous winelands of Stellenbosch with your guide, located around 40km to the east of Cape Town. This area is the largest winemaking region in the country with grape cultivation that dates back to the 1600s. Of course, you will have the chance to try a few of the wellknown South African wines during your visit, as well as a chocolate and wine pairing at Waterford Wine Estate.

Afterwards, transfer to Plettenberg Bay, a charming town with endless pristine beaches, tranquil lagoons, indigenous forests and a dramatic rocky peninsula. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and spend the remainder of the evening at leisure.

After breakfast, embark on an excursion into the well-known Featherbed Nature Reserve with your guide, situated on the Western Head of Knysna. Access to the reserve is controlled to protect the splendour of the natural beauty. Your guide will give you plenty of insight into the history of the park, as well as the flora and fauna. Explore the 4-hour premier eco-experience trail on the Garden Route, perfect for all ages and offering spectacular views. Finally, enjoy lunch under a canopy of Milkwood trees before spending the rest of the afternoon will at leisure.

Leave Plettenberg Bay this morning with your guide and head towards Tsitsikamma National Park, known for its ancient forest, pristine coast and beautiful rivers. Cross the small beach and follow the boardwalk as it meanders through coastal forest, allowing stunning views of the sea, coast and river mouth. The highlight is the 77m long suspension bridge crossing the Storms River Mouth, taking you to a pebble beach, before ascending steeply to a viewpoint over the coast.

Afterwards, transfer to Shamwari Private Game Reserve, one of the top Big Five reserves situated in the Eastern Cape. An abundance of game and wildlife call this beautiful reserve home. Upon arrival, embark on an exciting game drive in an open game drive vehicle. Dinner will be served at your lodge on your return from the game drive this evening.
