The 46,052grt Bahamian flagged Magellan with her gleaming profile, beautiful wood type decks and distinctive CMV livery is an impressive ship. She will accommodate about 1250 guests within a warm and friendly atmosphere that reflects a truly British cruise experience. Magellan is fully stabilised and air conditioned and has nine passenger decks serviced by eight lifts.
Magellan boasts a spacious interior, with wide corridors and expansive wooden deck areas providing comfortable surroundings for guests. However, the ship still provides an intimate atmosphere, with a huge range of leisure facilities, including bars and lounges, as well as multiple dining options.
Accommodation:
Magellan is an extremely comfortable ocean cruise ship with a wide range of public areas and deck spaces in which to relax. However, it is your cabin that should be the perfect place to unwind after a busy day sightseeing ashore and your unobtrusive cabin steward will ensure that you enjoy a high degree of comfort and service, whichever grade of accommodation you decide best suits your holiday requirements. There are fifteen categories of cabins and suites, primarily graded according deck position and even in the most economical cabins, the standard features are impressive.
Standard Twin Inner:
Located on Caribbean Deck, these air conditioned cabins all offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample wardrobe and storage space. All these cabins are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer and personal safe.
Standard Plus Twin Inner:
These air conditioned cabins all offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample wardrobe and storage space. They are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer and personal safe and are located on Baltic Deck.
Superior Twin Inner:
Located on Atlantic Deck, these air conditioned cabins all offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample wardrobe and storage space. All these cabins are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer and personal safe.
Premium Twin Inner:
These air conditioned cabins all offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample wardrobe and storage space. They are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer and personal safe and are located on Pacific Deck.
Standard Twin Ocean View:
These ocean view cabins on Caribbean Deck are with a picture window (except 4001, 4002, 4007, 4008, 4011, 4012, 4016 and 4017 located forward on Caribbean Deck which have portholes). All these air conditioned cabins offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample wardrobe and storage space. They are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer and personal safe.
Standard Twin Ocean View:
These ocean view cabins on Baltic Deck are with a picture window (except 5001, 5002, 5003, 5004, 5005, 5006, 5009 and 5010 which are located forward on Baltic Deck and 6003, 6004, 6005 and 6006 forward on Atlantic Deck which all have portholes). Please note that cabins 5005, 5006, 6005 and 6006 have I lower single bed and an upper berth. All these air conditioned cabins offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample wardrobe and storage space. They are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer and personal safe.
Standard Twin Plus Ocean View:
Located midships on Baltic Deck, these air conditioned cabins are with a picture window and offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample wardrobe and storage space. All these cabins are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer and personal safe.
Superior Twin Ocean View:
These ocean view cabins are with a picture window, are air conditioned and all offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample wardrobe and storage space. They are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer and personal safe and are located on Atlantic Main Deck.
Superior Plus Twin Ocean View:
These ocean view cabins are with a picture window, are air conditioned and all offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample wardrobe and storage space. They are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer and personal safe and are located forward and aft on Pacific Upper Deck.
Premium Twin Ocean View:
Ideally located in the midships section on Pacific Upper Deck and with convenient access to the restaurants and public lounges, these air conditioned cabins are with a picture window. They offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample wardrobe and storage space and are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer and personal safe.
Junior Suite:
Located on Navigator Deck, there are four air conditioned Junior Suites with balconies and a sitting area with sofa bed. They offer private en-suite facilities with Jacuzzi bath and shower above, mirrored dressing table, large wardrobe and ample storage space. These suites are equipped with a flat-screen television, DVD player, hairdryer, personal safe and fridge.
De Luxe Suite:
These four De Luxe Suites comprising a sitting area with sofa bed and a balcony, are air conditioned and offer private en-suite facilities with Jacuzzi bath and shower above, mirrored dressing table, walk-in wardrobe and ample storage space. They are equipped with two flat-screen televisions, DVD player, hairdryer, personal safe and fridge. The views from these De Luxe Suites are partially obscured.
Royal Suite:
Located on Navigator Deck, these six beautifully appointed Royal Suites with balconies comprise a sitting area including a sofa bed, private en-suite facilities with Jacuzzi bath and shower above, mirrored dressing table, walk-in wardrobe and ample storage space. These suites are equipped with two flat-screen televisions, DVD player, hairdryer, personal safe and fridge.
Superior Single Inner:
Located on Atlantic Deck (except Cabin 7068 on Pacific Deck), these air conditioned cabins all offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample wardrobe and storage space. All these cabins are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer and personal safe.
Superior Single Ocean View:
Located on Atlantic Main Deck, these air conditioned cabins are with a picture window and offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample wardrobe and storage space. All these cabins are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer and personal safe.

Our maitre’d and his attentive waiting staff will welcome you to the elegant Waldorf or Kensington Restaurants where you can opt for a full English breakfast, savour a leisurely five-course lunch and enjoy a delightful dinner every day of your cruise. Whilst breakfasts and lunches are generally served in the restaurant on an open seating basis, two fixed time sittings are operated for dinner in the evening.
As a casual alternative, the light and airy Raffles Bistro is open every day for buffet style breakfast, lunches and dinner. Here informality is the key and you can feel free to drop in without any ceremony.
The Pool Deck lends itself particularly well to al fresco meals so a buffet breakfast or lunch from the Bistro can be served up with a complimentary ocean view!
Lounges:
Why not settle down and enjoy wonderful panoramic ocean views from the comfortable lounge areas along the mall on the Magellan Deck, or relax in a secluded corner of the delightful Hamptons Lounge Bar where the head barman will soon get to know your favourite drink.
At the very heart of Magellan is the stylish Captain’s Club, a popular place to meet fellow passengers. To start your evening you might opt for a pre-dinner drink here and enjoy a few of your favourite melodies.
After dinner the show team would enjoy the pleasure of your company in the two-tier, Magellan theatre-style Show Lounge as our talented show team display their talents in a glittering ‘big-show’. Enjoy more evening entertainment in Sinatra’s, the Captain’s Club and Hampton’s or enjoy a drink in the Taverner’s Pub.

Our speciality acts and guest entertainers complement the show team to ensure that your evenings go with a swing.
A Laugh on the Ocean Waves
Following the great success of many guest acts from the field of comedy we are launching ‘A Laugh on the Ocean Waves’ where, on selected cruises, you are invited to enjoy the talents of one of our guest comedians Laughter is the best medicine so enjoy the talents of our comedy acts with their dedicated evening shows, hear them talk about their life experience and listen to their Comedy Corner interviews with the Cruise Director.
Arts & Crafts
With Arts and Crafts growing in popularity, we are including sessions on all CMV cruises of five nights or more. Specialists will be delighted to demonstrate their talents replicating many of the growing number of new crafting skills now witnessed on dedicated TV channels. These may include millinery, bead jewellery, mosaic decoration, calligraphy and decorative card art. You may need to buy materials on board which will be supplied by the crafter for a modest charge.
An Audience With...
On selected cruises we feature our light hearted ‘Audience With …’ where you are invited to listen to an invited guest speaker or performer talk about their life experience and expert knowledge interspersed with questions from you, the audience. This offers you a great chance to become involved and be a part of the fun. Our audiences love them, we hope you will too.
Guest Speakers
Learn more about a fascinating subject from someone who is passionate about their interest and will want to share their knowledge and enthusiasm with you. CMV cruises of five nights or more are accompanied by one or more of these experts giving informative talks or practical sessions on a range of fascinating subjects. These speaker subjects may include maritime history, broadcasting, gardens and even criminology! They are generally programmed to take place during days spent at sea rather than in port, so that you won’t miss out.
CMV Club Class
If you’d like to play bridge, backgammon, chess or another activity, simply have a word with our Librarian. After a brief sign-up session you are then put in touch with other passengers who share the same interests, allowing you to make the most of your time aboard. It’s never forced – just helpful.
Daytime Activities
When at sea, you may choose from a work-out in the gym; a make-over in the beauty salon; a swim in the pool; deck games or join in a quiz. There’s always something going on.
Wellness Centre
The beautifully appointed Wellness Centre is nature’s secret of well being on Magellan. It offers hairdressing & beauty treatments spanning across its state of the art treatment rooms, relaxation area, sauna and extensive menu of massage treatments. Out on Deck
There are two outdoor swimming pools plus three whirlpools together with expansive deck areas for that daily exercise, relaxation and viewing or a romantic stroll before you decide to call it a night.
