Gondwana Game Reserve provides the perfect safari break for Cape Town visitors. Less than a 4-hour drive away along South Africa's popular Garden Route, the reserve offers a distinctive, malaria-free, and luxurious safari experience. Situated on 11,000 hectares, Gondwana is the only authentic free roaming 'Big 5' game reserve in the Southern Cape. Herds of eland, gemsbok, red hartebeest, kudu and giraffe dot the landscape, which offers breath taking mountain vistas and valleys cloaked in indigenous Fynbos adding colour. Fantastic sightings of the Big5, keep guests enthralled and expert field guides reveal Gondwana’s unique flora and fauna on foot or in open Land Rovers. Kwena Lodge, a modern twist on the traditional Khoi-San dwelling, open plan deluxe rooms in spectacular surrounds with 180 views, skylights for star gazing, clay pot fireplaces and deep baths. Gondwana's private Bush Villas offer spacious accommodation ideal for families or groups.
